This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Jersey City is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Jersey City is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New Jersey's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Not a big place but the food was phenomenal. All the dishes came out quick. I highly recommend the house made sausage just melts in your mouth. Also the la galbi was huge and beef cooked to perfection. The chicken πŸ” wings were great. The scallion pancake was large

Found this place online while looking for a Korean restaurant on a Saturday night.... And we were surprised that this place wasn't packed. The food rivals any K-Town restaurant in the City, the service was attentive; our server, Lee, was super helpful and fast, and friendly. The space is modern, spacious and nicely designed; and centrally located in the Journal Square location in Jersey City. There is a full bar in the middle of the restaurant, that creates a very social vibe..... Prices are very fair for the quality, and the food was delicious... All your Korean favorites are on the menu, with a few non-traditional choices that also stand out, served in a modern, non-hectic presentation.... Definitely recommended.

This was our second time here, both great experiences. Great food, well prepared. The stone bowls remain steaming throughout the meal. The bone broth is legit with bones. The glass noodles are wonderful. Our first visit we had the La Galbi, Korean Don-Katsu, and the Goguma (delicious sweet potato custard served in the actual sweet potato); this time we went for the Bibim Hot Stone Bowls (bulgogi & tofu), the Galbi Tang, and the Devil’s Cake (w/matcha & pistachio). La Galbi is my favorite dish so far, but we plan to keep going down the list until we’ve tried everything. The waitstaff is some of the nicest you’ll find. It’s a convenient location, close to the path. And they have a late night menu that’s served on the covered outdoor patio. Also have to mention the kimchi (regular and radish). It’s served with many of the dishesβ€”it’s amazing, and you can order it as a side. You’re lucky if you live in The Urby. Not just because BRBQ is in the building, but the residents get a discount!

Genuinely the BEST Korean spot I’ve been to in New Jersey. The food was amazing and served with authentic sides. Have been there for lunch as well, they have great affordable lunch specials. PORTIONS are GREAT, trust me. Everything from their menu is delicious. Got to meet the owner (who is also a chef), She’s very hardworking and super sweet. Staff was very nice. The bartender is SUPER cool and attentive, she brings in really good energy. High quality stuff which is rare in Jersey, Must try!

I went for my birthday, because I had heard of a new Korean barbecue spot actually in Jersey City. I also like Ondo a lot, and these are the same owners. But I left disappointed. For the prices they were charging, I would've expected better quality/execution on the dishes. This is not a DIY barbecue. Everything is done in the kitchen. BBQ: we ordered the Bulgogi, the Galbi and the Pork belly. I've never had such bad Bulgogi. It was so dry. After everyone took a bite, we all decided we didn't want to finish, and sent it back to the kitchen. We told the waiter we didn't like it because it was over overcooked, and it was not taken off the tab at the end. The pork belly was OK. The galbi was the best part. Other dishes, I would recommend: the cucumber tofu salad (best of the side dishes), dolsot bibimbap. The teeny tiny side dishes only are included with the BBQ. Otherwise if you want any kimchi, you have to pay for a separate side dish. I prefer the traditional Korean style place where the kimchi and other banchan are included in your meal, and not just one bite. I was really hoping for a super solid Korean barbecue restaurant in Jersey City. I would maybe go back again just to g
